Gill Thompson, Ed.D. , is an experienced human resource and organization development executive. She acquired her global perspective and expertise over 25 years spent working in both Ford and Boeing. Gill understands the complexities of business and organizational challenges in today’s environment. She partners effectively with clients to design and implement customized solutions. She uses a combination of skill and intuition in her work with individuals, teams and organizations. Her doctoral research focused on individuals in job/career transition. She spent several years developing and working in a high performance team environment to re-design major processes and create a culture of engagement.
- Gill completed her doctorate in Organization Change at the end of 2005. Her research focused on the assessment of a holistic, experiential workshop that she designed and ran for people in job/career transition. Her workshop provided an opportunity and framework for participants to step back and gain clarity about deeper personal priorities and values before planning the next steps in their careers.
- As the director of organization and leadership development she was responsible for providing consulting and leadership development resources across the business. In addition to designing and delivering a tiered leadership development program for specific functions her group was accountable for performance management, 360-degree feedback and the employee survey.
- While an HR generalist director for a major business unit, she played a key role in integrating Sales and Marketing organizations following a merger, became involved in the establishment of a joint venture, helped put in place the structure and resources to develop a new for profit business.
- Gill has participated on a number of leadership development projects that included the design and facilitation of programs either to enhance general leadership competencies or to build skill in a particular discipline.
- Developed strategy and aligned organizations using whole-scale change approach, which uses large-scale interactive meetings as one of the main vehicles for bringing about change.
Gill has lived in Seattle for over 17 years. She has been active in a number of professional and academic organizations. She is the membership chair of an executive networking and development organization and volunteers her time at the city Animal Shelter.
