David Dunnington, MA, is a gifted career coach, team facilitator and consultant. With over 20 years experience at world-class companies such as Microsoft and Boeing, David is experienced in a range of HR functions, e-learning, employee development and team facilitation. - David’s professional background includes a key role as a senior marketing manager for Microsoft leading international marketing initiatives launching the 2007 Office System certification program, responsible for P & L, strategy and product growth. David led Microsoft’s Certified Professional program (MCP) to achieve its growth and quality of service goals, creating increased value and benefit for over 2 million MCP members worldwide. With David’s leadership and teamwork, the MCP community grew 10% annually and developed into a robust world-wide community of learners with world-class customer service and support.
- A skilled manager, facilitator, and systems thinker, David led Microsoft’s partner readiness program for Windows XP and Windows Server to exceed its goals for early partner readiness and customer satisfaction. Using innovative processes for development and delivery, David’s team delivered early training to over 80,000 partners worldwide using e-learning, web based and stand-up delivery modes covering a full range of technical content and sales materials.
- As Director of Product Development for a Boeing owned subsidiary called DigitalXpress, David’s group engineered new product offerings the leveraged the company’s digital-satellite uplink services and created products sold to commercial customers.
- While working for The Boeing Company, David served on the leadership council designing leadership and systems thinking curricula to help transition Boeing’s leadership and management culture from an authority based system to a team and process culture focused on quality. David’s work has been heavily influenced by thought leaders such as Russell Ackhoff, Peter Senge, Margaret Wheatley, and David Whyte who were instrumental in the success of the Boeing programs. While at Boeing, David led a team of engineers to design, develop and deliver Boeing’s first global-training network which has been credited for making new leadership skills available to a global Boeing audience.
David has learned his craft from a broad range of experiences that include a Masters Degree in Interpersonal Communication and Organizational Development from the University of Washington, and 25 years of experience leading workshops, consulting with executives and managing teams in corporations. Personal development has always been a passion of David’s as he has pursued his own “transformative” inner work with trips abroad to Southeast Asia, Australia, India and the Himalayas, studies with John P. Milton (Sacred Passage) and personal “solo” journeys into nature for rejuvenation and solitude. David is passionate about living a fulfilling and rewarding life and committed to the journey of self discovery that such a commitment requires.
David lives with his wife Janet and two teenage sons in Seattle Washington. David is a state champion tennis player, he enjoys hiking, reading, playing the piano, and exercising.
